Class Visuals Below:
Plan for the first week of school:
- Students feel safe in their environment and find identity and pride in their classroom right away.
- Students feel consistency, routine, and comfort in routine right away. To do this, establish a classroom where students know the location of items in the room with ease. Make sure students know rules of the classroom and respect for items surrounding them. Students should have jobs in the classroom, know where to account for lunch, as well as other daily jobs.
- Parent and teacher meet and greet- set out expectations with connections between parent and child with weekly reading logs and planner checks, as well as a weekly bulletin
- Identify a need for parents to come in to support cultural diversity in the classroom from varying ethnic backgrounds.
- Identification of resources for students to learn for a range of learners; have parents get to know the specialists that will come in for math or other subject help.
